Hi there!
I work with ambitious founders who want clarity, not chaos - & marketing that actually works.
This blog? It's where I share practical strategy, honest perspective, and the mindset shifts that make growth feel possible again.
You know that feeling when you stumble across something that just works? That’s exactly what happened when I started working with this gorgeous Dubai-based party supply brand.
They came to me feeling frustrated. Instagram wasn’t converting. TikTok felt like too high maintenance with the amount of video content they’d have to produce. Their beautiful party products – think stunning balloon arches, themed table settings, seasonal decorations – were getting lost in the social media noise.
“Kelly,” they said, “we know our products are gorgeous, but we’re spending so much on ads just to get people to see them. There has to be a better way.”
And honestly? I had a hunch there was.
Here’s the thing about party planning – it’s intentional. People don’t wake up and spontaneously throw a Halloween party (well, most don’t!). They plan. They dream. They save ideas for later. They search for “Taylor Swift party decorations” or “Harry Potter birthday setup” months before they need them.
Pinterest isn’t social media – it’s a visual search engine disguised as inspiration. And for a brand selling party supplies? That’s marketing gold.
So we decided to test it properly. No half-measures, no “let’s try it for a month and see.” We committed to six months of strategic, consistent pinning from July through December 2024.
I’ve learned that success on Pinterest isn’t about going viral (thank goodness, because that pressure is exhausting). It’s about being consistently helpful and beautiful at the same time.
We started pinning Back to School party ideas in July. Halloween content in August. Christmas inspiration by September. While everyone else was scrambling to create seasonal content at the last minute, we were already there, waiting for our audience to find us.
The boards we created told stories:
We committed to 10-15 pins per day. I know that sounds like a lot, but here’s what I’ve discovered – Pinterest rewards consistency over sporadic brilliance. Each pin was carefully crafted with search-optimised descriptions, relevant keywords, and those gorgeous product shots that made people stop scrolling.
Six months later, the numbers were honestly mind-blowing:
197,180 impressions – that’s nearly 200,000 people seeing their beautiful products 8,844 interactions – people actively engaging, not just scrolling past 3,760 pin clicks – genuine interest in learning more 299 outbound clicks to their website 539 saves – and this is where it gets exciting
Those saves? They’re like little digital bookmarks. People finding their pins and thinking “I need to remember this for Sarah’s birthday” or “Perfect for next year’s Halloween party.”But here’s the kicker – we achieved all of this with zero ad spend. Not a single dirham on promoted pins. Pure, organic reach.
The most beautiful part of this whole experiment wasn’t just the numbers (though they were pretty spectacular). It was watching a small business owner realise she didn’t have to pay for every single person who discovered her brand.
Unlike Instagram stories that disappear in 24 hours, or posts that get buried in the algorithm, Pinterest pins keep working. Months later, people are still finding and saving content we created in July. It’s like having a marketing team that never sleeps.
Think ahead, not reactive. While your competitors are posting Christmas content on Christmas Day, you could be the brand people discover when they start planning in October.
Quality and consistency win over viral moments. We never had a pin get millions of views, but we had hundreds of pins getting steady, reliable engagement.
UAE audiences absolutely use Pinterest. There’s this myth that Pinterest only works in Western markets. Complete rubbish. People everywhere plan celebrations, dream about their homes, and save ideas for later.
Long-term thinking pays off. This isn’t about quick wins – it’s about building a library of discoverable content that works for you 24/7.
If you’re sitting there thinking “this sounds amazing but overwhelming,” I get it. Pinterest success isn’t about perfection from day one – it’s about showing up consistently with helpful, beautiful content.
Whether you’re selling party supplies, handmade jewellery, or business coaching services, the principles remain the same: understand what your audience is searching for, create content that helps them, and be patient enough to let Pinterest’s magic work.
